A few words about Louisville Salsa Dancing

Louisville Salsa Dancing

WHAT WE DO:

We are professional dancers, instructors, performers and choreographers and teach all forms of partner dance including: Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Country Dance Lessons, and Wedding First Dance.

Salsa is one of the most popular social dances in the United States and Louisville has a thriving salsa dance scene.

A Description OF Salsa Dance:

Salsa is similar to Mambo as the pattern is similar and both are danced with 6 steps danced over 8 counts of music with "rock steps" within the basic pattern structure. We tend to refer to "Salsa" if the rock step begins on count 1, and "Mambo" if it begins on count 2. Salsa is a more contemporary name for the step pattern and began being used when dancers began mixing Mambo with The Hustle.
